CAREER / EXECUTIVE / PERFORMANCE COACHING

How much time do you spend doing your job?

If you’re like most people, then spending 40 hours or more at work doing job-related networking, attending meetings, or prospecting new business is the exception rather than the rule. More and more, very successful people are finding that in order to keep up, get ahead, and be a top producer or executive in their field, 60 hours or more is barely enough to keep up with the competition, much less surpass it.

How much time do you spend enjoying your job?

If you’ve lost your drive, your motivation, and your enthusiasm for work, or find yourself constantly fighting burnout and frustration, then chances are good that your performance is suffering, too, and that you’re not as successful, as effective, or as satisfied with your career as you could be.

Your life may be out of balance. You may need to re-examine your definition of “success,” or you may simply need to look at the other options out there that promise more excitement, more financial freedom, and more personal satisfaction.

Maybe you need to brainstorm different ideas to get you enthused and motivated, and get your drive, ambition, and priorities back in order. Maybe you need to come up with a new, innovative product or program that can spotlight your strengths, enhance your skills, and make others take notice.

Have you lost direction, focus, or drive?

If your work performance is suffering because you’re finding it difficult to have the vigor, interest, and motivation you once did, then consider hiring a coach. Executive, business, and performance coaches can work with you to define where your career is going, where you’d like it to go, and how you can get where you want to go. Executive coaching can also help you navigate rough terrain, and how you can maintain balance, integrity, and energy along the way.

With everyone out there working just as hard as you, working equally long hours, and doing tireless self-promotion, what can you do to stand out above the rest, and establish yourself as a top professional in any field? Work with a Coach, and identify ways that you can get more done, in less time, and with better results!

Work smarter, instead of harder!

There is a school of thought that is gaining popularity among some large, successful companies who are dealing with over-worked, over-committed, and overly-anxious executives and employees. The philosophy states that if an individual cannot complete his work in 40 hours or less, then he or she is ineffective, out of balance, and unmotivated. Companies see the bottom line: a burned out, over-stressed person is more likely to be ill, be distracted or tired, and end up costing them money in health care, time, effectiveness, and sales.

Companies are starting to realize that employees who are happy and satisfied, who live a life in balance, and who take care of themselves physically are less likely to miss work are more likely to be motivated, loyal, and pleasant in attitude.

There are even some companies that are insisting that their employees work no more than 8 hours per day, and actually forbid them from working weekends in order to encourage family time, hobbies, self-care, relaxation, and personal growth.

Where is your career headed?

Do you have specific, quantitative goals for your career? Your future? Your life? How well do you know yourself, your strengths, your values, your motivation?

Where do you want to be professionally three years from now, and what is your plan to get there? If your career or business continues down the path it’s on right now, where are you likely to end up five years down the road? Is that what you want, or is some kind of change necessary, so that you can climb the ladder, increase sales and/or production, and establish yourself as a leader, and a sought after resource in your field? Are you on the fast track? Is what you’re doing now the most effective, productive, and time-efficient way to do things?

If you’re constantly going through the motions in your professional life, just doing the best you can, hoping that someday someone will suddenly take notice of your hard work, and then reward your accomplishments, it may be a long wait. And if you don’t have that kind of time, then it’s time to get your career, your business, and your professional life in motion. START TODAY.

If you don’t have a clear picture of where you’d like to be financially and professionally in the future, and if you don’t have a clear plan of the steps, the timeline, and the tools and skills necessary to get there, then don’t delay another day. Hire a professional executive or business coach today, and get clear about who you are, what you want, and what you need to do in order to accomplish what you want professionally.

Is it time for a Change?

Many top executives, business owners, and successful business people are finding that the profession they thought they loved no longer is necessarily one that makes them happy, makes them feel satisfied, or even makes them feel valued or successful.

If other areas of your life (including your own personal satisfaction) are suffering as a result of your professional life, then you are going down a road that can lead to unhappiness, burnout, loneliness, and emptiness. In order to attain true happiness, satisfaction, and success in your career, then your life must be in balance, and your career or chosen profession must be on track, and in congruence with your values, your interests, and your own personal goals.

Executive and performance coaching can work with you to explore your options, identify your values, goals, and priorities, and determine where the work to be done is.

Don’t wait. Opportunities are passing you by, and you need to be ready when the right one—the perfect one—comes along.
